Make a single copy record, with a single call number (244) and a type of NONE, (RDA 2.2.1.1.1.1.1). If the copy record is to be placed in a set record, record a single title (440), and type=REF. Note the LC call number, location (MEDIA-MTXT), and date created in the call number (244). Change the date created on the copy record to the actual date of creation. Record the source number, location (MEDIA-MTXT), and title number (245). If there is a copy of the item on the copy record, note the source number in the 200 call number and the title number in the 201 call number. Include any other details in the notes, such as a title number or date created on the copy record. 4. If the item is in a set, record the set title (242), type=REF, and the number of records (244). You can change the entry number to a number higher than the number of items if you wish. If the copy record (244) for the set is to be placed in a set record, record the set title (242) in the set record (442), type=REF, and the number of records (244) in the set (442) (RDA 3.4.1.5.1.1). If there is a copy of the item on the copy record, record the set title in the set record (242) with the number of copies in the notes (245) and type=REF. Note the source number (220) and the number of copies in the set in the 200 call number and the 201 call number.
5. For individual items, record the individual titles that make up the set, one title per copy record (245, 246, 247). If the titles are in a set, record the set title (242) in the set record (442). If you wish to record the titles in a separate container record (244), simply record the titles as you would for single item records. Note the source number (220) and the title number in the call number, if applicable.
5. In the MARC record, take a look at the item's LC call number. If it does not appear to belong in this collection, send it to the MARC Unit. The MARC Unit can probably make better sense of it than we can.
4. If the authorized form is different from the one on the item (as in item 8 for example), transcribe the form that's on the item in the 830 with a first indicator of 1. Transcribe the authorized form in the 490, with a second indicator of 0. Include the volume number in the 490 if there is one.
7. The title may appear on a separate copy record, according to use, the copy record with the title, or the item record. In any event, it will be cataloged separately. If the film titles are not available, the item record may be all that is known. The item record can include the details from the item record.
